Hey folks! Sorry for the spurious list email this morning; when subscribers reply to the list, their email clients are supposed to automatically choose the "reply-to" email (which is my personal email). Sometimes, though, email programs reply to the list address, which then tries to send it to all of you. When that happens, I get a warning telling me to go approve or delete that message, and this morning, I clicked "approve" rather than "delete." In my defense, I was in the midst of debugging a very gnarly problem after cloning my old encrypted disk to a new one that is twice as big, but then wouldn't boot, and I was distracted and slightly panicked that I'd nuked my laptop at the start of a lengthy spell of work travel.

Thankfully, the computer is now working (all hail Canonical support!).

I'm really sorry about the message though.

Hoping to get another newsletter out tomorrow - today's shot, I'm afraid, as I have to get ready to give my Cornell keynote now.
